I started lifting during my sophomore year of high school when I was 16, not really knowing much, just wanting to get bigger and look better. Fast forward 4.5 years, and I’ve made a ton of progress—not just physically, but mentally too. I’ve gone through all phases of it: dirty bulking hard, trying to clean things up with more structured cuts, and even getting to the point where I was pretty shredded. Through all of that, my relationship with my physique has been all over the place. There were times I hated how I looked, times I loved it, but honestly, I was never fully satisfied.
The biggest turning point for me was dialing in my diet. That didn’t really happen until about two years into lifting, around when I was 18. Before that, I was just guessing—eating a lot, but not eating with any real purpose. Once I actually started understanding nutrition and being consistent with it, everything changed. My physique started progressing way faster, but more importantly, my lifestyle and mental clarity improved a lot too. I felt more in control and more confident in what I was doing.
Looking back, one thing I really wish I had early on was proper guidance—whether that was a coach or just someone experienced who actually knew what they were talking about. It would’ve saved me a lot of time, mistakes, and frustration. Once I made that shift and started approaching things the right way, that’s when everything really started to take off for me, both in how I looked and how I felt overall.
